Raw Hair Care

  • Use Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner: Opt for gentle, sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners. Sulfates can strip the hair of its natural oils and moisture, leading to dryness and tangling.
  • Wash with Lukewarm Water: When washing your raw hair extensions, use lukewarm water instead of hot water. Hot water can cause damage and weaken the hair strands.
  • Detangle with Care: Before washing, gently detangle your hair extensions using a wide-tooth comb or a specialized detangling brush. Start from the ends and work your way up to the roots to prevent breakage.
  • Deep Condition Regularly: Raw hair extensions benefit from deep conditioning treatments to maintain their softness and shine. Use a moisturizing hair mask or deep conditioner once a week to nourish the hair and keep it hydrated.
  • Air Dry Whenever Possible: Avoid using heat styling tools excessively on your raw hair extensions. Allow them to air dry whenever possible to minimize heat damage. If you must use heat styling tools, apply a heat protectant spray first.
  • Protect Hair While Sleeping: Before going to bed, braid your hair or tie it up in a loose ponytail to prevent tangling and friction against your pillowcase. Consider using a silk or satin pillowcase, which is gentler on the hair and reduces friction.
  • Trim Regularly: Just like your natural hair, raw hair extensions can develop split ends over time. Schedule regular trims every few months to remove any damaged ends and keep the hair looking healthy.
  • Avoid Chlorine and Saltwater: Exposure to chlorine and saltwater can be damaging to raw hair extensions. If you plan to swim, wear a swimming cap to protect your hair, or rinse your hair thoroughly with clean water after swimming.
  • Store Properly When Not in Use: When you're not wearing your raw hair extensions, store them properly in a breathable storage bag or box to prevent tangling and dust accumulation. Avoid storing them in humid or damp environments.
